Sagnarigu: NDC Youth groups threaten to vote ‘skirt and blouse’ if ABA Fuseini is maintained

Some youth groups of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sagnarigu Constituency of the Northern Region have vowed to vote against the Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji ABA Fuseini in the 2024 Elections if he is maintained by the party’s delegates at Saturday’s primaries.

The groups, including the Tibung Palace branch youth at Shishegu and Zogbeli fong (GIFAM) branch youth said that even though they will vote for Former President John Mahama in 2024, they will to vote for the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate in the parliamentary election if Alhaji Fuseini emerges as the NDC’s candidate for 2024.

They claim the MP has done little to improve their lives since he became an MP.

“We suffered a lot to get ABA Fuseini elected in 2020 but he has failed to live up to expectation. Most of our members are either students or graduates who just need a little support to either complete their studies or be gainfully employed. Hon ABA has never shown any such interest” Yussif Adam, Organiser of the NDC’s ‘Die hard’ youth group at Zogbeli fong told the media at a news conference on Thursday.
Also speaking at a separate conference, Seidu Jamal, a member who of Tibung Palace youth at Shishegu urged delegates to vote for a candidate the grassroots want, warning that failure to do so will force them to vote against the party’s candidate in the 2024 Elections.
“We’re appealing to the Delegates to listen to the cries of the grassroots because all we need is change. If they fail and bring back ABA Fuseini, we will vote massively against him in 2024” he warned.
The groups, numbering about four with at least 50 members each are located across the constituency and are made up of mainly unemployed graduates who claim they have benefited little or nothing from the party.
The Sagnarigu MP is facing stiff competition from four other candidates in the NDC’s parliamentary primaries. Top amongst his contenders is the party’s National Accountant, Atta Issah who seem to be breaking through the strongholds of the MP.
With barely two days to go, many wonder if Alhaji Fuseini, known for his proverbs, will be able to survive the battle to retain his sit.
