Statement: Claims that Zosimli Naa's container was in my name false - Alhaji King Faisal

The man accused of diverting the container of medical equipment meant for hospitals in the Northern Region, Alhaji Faisal Adams has denied the claims, describing it as complete false.

Below is the full statement he issued from his base in Louisville, Kentucky in the United States.

BEYOND THE HEADLINES: EXAMINING THE CONTAINER CONTROVERSY
September 21. 2023
My attention has been drawn to rumors and negative media reports circulating within the Northern Region. These reports allege that I, Alhaji King Faisal Adam, diverted a 40ft container of medical equipment and supplies secured by Zosimli Naa II to my late father's defunct clinic, Haj Adams Clinic, in Tamale. I became aware of these allegations during the Tamale Sister Cities general meeting held on January 14, 2023, although no investigation or inquiries regarding this matter were made at that time.
As a proud member of the Dagomba community and a Northern resident deeply committed to the development of our region, I feel compelled to address these baseless and besmirching allegations unapologetically. It is important to clarify that these rumors are entirely false and appear to be aimed at misleading the public, as no such diversion ever took place. I wish to present the following verifiable facts to dispel any doubts regarding this issue.
1) The Haj Adams Clinic has not been operational since the demise of Alhaji Adam in 2016, and no one is able to transact any business in its name.
2) The Haj Adams Clinic was a private facility located at Bayan Wire, opposite Sheikh Basha’s Mosque between 2003-2018, and the address of the clinic was Haj Adams Clinic P.O Box 1640, Kaladan Barracks, Tamale.
3) The original consignee address on the bill of lading for the 40ft medical container read as "The Office of Zosimli Naa, Veterans Village- Legion, Picorna Road, Tamale" (attached for reference). It's important to note that in compliance with the requirements of our US partners and the shipping line, a formal address was necessary for the bill of lading to be delivered by mail. To ensure that this crucial opportunity for life-saving development in the Northern Region was not lost, I temporarily provided a mailing address belonging to a friend. This decision was made because, at the time of preparing for the shipment of the medical container from the US the Zosimli Naa did not possess a formal address. It's worth mentioning that she had been informed that the palace was slated for conversion into a museum, rendering its address and facilities unusable for this purpose.
4) This was corrected with the Freight/ Manifest Corrector (attached) in the name of Ghana Health Services (attached).
The question again is, where is the truth to the allegation of diversion? I would like to encourage individuals and the media to further investigate the matter of these facts, scrutinize the original bill of laden together with the freight corrector, and then draw conclusions based on evidence provided so far, and not based on rumor and wrong perception about people.
As a servant-leader passionately committed to the development of the northern Regions, it would be a disservice if I didn’t state how I got into the Louisville-Tamale Sister Cities relationship and their activities because I believe that this may help everyone to understand the dynamics of what is happening today.
Before the passing of Zosimli Naa I, Dr. Susan Herlin she personally reached out to me with a strong desire for me to actively participate in Sister Cities activities. She assured me that someone from the organization would get in touch regarding Louisville Sister Cities meetings. Remarkably, the day before her unfortunate demise, she reemphasized this commitment by reminding me that someone would be in contact. In honoring her wishes and out of my deep commitment to the people of Dagbon and Tamale, I promptly engaged in these activities immediately following her funeral. My active involvement continued, ultimately leading to my appointment as the co-chair of the Louisville-Tamale Sister Cities committee. This, to me, represents not just volunteering but a profound dedication to our community.
Over the period of vacancy, the Tamale-Louisville Sister President Alhaji Haroon Cambodia visited Louisville, KY, and per our discussions, he strongly encouraged me to seek out a replacement to succeed the late Zosimli Naa I. Additionally, during this time frame the then, Mayor Musah Superior also visited Louisville, and in our conversation, he also encouraged that I should find a replacement to bring development to our people.
After almost 6 years of persistently looking to find a replacement to succeed the Late Zosimli Naa I, I met the current Zosimli Naa II (Ife Bell), and eventually, she agreed to fill the vacant position, which did not happen within a blink of an eye.
In addition to my instrumental role in identifying Zosimli Naa II, I have continued to provide guidance and unwavering support in various capacities. My consistent message to her has been that I am readily available to assist in any way necessary to serve the people of the Northern Region. This commitment was exemplified by not one but two separate trips I made from the United States to Tamale, Ghana, solely to offer support and assistance in her important work. As a leader, it is my deeply held belief that active participation is not just required but imperative to the progress of our community.
I’m categorically stating these facts to indicate my commitment to the sister cities' relationship between Tamale and Louisville, Kentucky, and The Office Of Zosimli Naa. I have committed my time, talent, and resources since 2014 to contribute to conversations and plans leading to the Zosimli Naa securing the medical container for the Northern Region. Therefore, it is not possible to be the same individual diverting the 40ft medical container.
It Is, therefore, regrettable and disappointing that some individual(s) will fabricate stories of such magnitude to tarnish my reputation after several years of volunteering service, time, and resources to work in the interest of the Northern Region.
It is necessary to remind each other to do due diligence in investigating issues before feeding the public irrelevant and wrong information with the intention of creating mistrust without concrete evidence to support the allegations but to inflame anger. In fact, these behaviors discourage individuals abroad from sacrificing their time, resources, family, and rest time to volunteer in contributing to the socio-economic development of their communities. It is also regrettable that some executives of sister cities deliberately deceived the public that they did not have enough information concerning the medical container because it was in the address of an individual. (Evidence attached), yet they had communications about the medical container.
Furthermore, it is disheartening to note that certain members of the Tamale Sister Cities executives have engaged in deceptive practices during recent communications regarding their knowledge and awareness of the medical container. They have claimed that they lacked sufficient information about the container, citing its address to an individual/private clinic as a reason for their supposed lack of awareness. However, it is essential to highlight multiple communications (attached) that clearly demonstrate their access to detailed information throughout the entire process. This discrepancy is regrettable and undermines transparency in our collaborative efforts.
I'm profoundly grateful that Zosimli Naa has continued to express her unwavering resolve and commitment to development. It's my belief that, at this moment, she may also feel like she is "walking on eggshells," with some hesitation about holding "another grasshopper so that the legs do not break loose in the hands." Nonetheless, she continues to demonstrate her unwavering dedication and focus.
I understand that in every society, there are people who do not want anything good for their communities, have no goals for themselves, and will do whatever it takes to distract everyone from focusing on the developmental goals of their communities but to create non-existent or artificial problems.
I remain focused and will never back down to the cheap strategies carefully planned to derail me from continuously working with the Zosimli Naa II to serve the good people of the Northern Region. I will end by saying, “Forward ever, Backwards never!’. Thank you!
