TTH Doctor files to contest Karaga NDC primaries

The Head of the Radiology Department of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr Abubakari Bawa Abdulai has filed his nominations to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Karaga Constituency.
The Parliamentary Aspirant was accompanied by hundreds of supporters and party faithful to the Karaga Constituency Office of the NDC where he filed his nominations on Tuesday, March 21.
He is tipped as the major contender of the former Member of Parliament for Karaga, Alhassan Dandawa who is also aiming for a comeback.
Addressing party supporters after filing his nominations, Dr Bawa Abdulai reiterated his plans to rebrand the NDC in the constituency and make it attractive to first time and floating voters.
He said despite winning the Karaga seat for 16 years, the NDC cannot boast of a befitting constituency office, a situation he noted was not the best in positioning the party as the choice of first time voters and the youth.
Dr Bawa Abdulai said it was for that reason that he cut sod for the construction of a multipurpose constituency office for the NDC.

“We have won the Karaga seat for 16 years but the party is not still very visible in the constituency because we don’t have a befitting constituency office. That’s why I’ve promised to build a befitting constituency office for the party, a project I cut sod for work on it to begin last Saturday” he said.
He promised to embark on a clean campaign, devoid of vulgar and violent language.
The Chairman of the Karaga NDC Election Committee, Huseini Haruna who received the nomination forms, advised the aspirant to ensure that the campaign is clean devoid of any insults against other candidates.
He said the focus of the aspirants should be on how to convince voters to vote massively for the NDC in 2024, hence their message should be based on exposing the rots of the ruling NPP government.
