Tamale High Court refers Registrar to Chief Justice for 'dishonest conduct'

A Tamale High Court has directed that the Registrar of the Court be referred to the Chief Justice of Ghana for investigation after it established that he attempted to conceal and manipulate documents in favour of one lawyer to downplay the evidence of another lawyer.

The Court on Wednesday 12th July, 2023 established that Mr Mohammed Musah had acted “surreptitiously, ignominious and fraudulently”.

Delivering his judgment in a case involving Mr Abubakari Iddi vrs Zakaria Alhassan and 3 Others in respect of possession of House Number C2 situated at Zamigu in Tamale, Presiding Judge, His Lordship Kenneth Edem captured a number of issues including the misconduct of Mr Musah.

His Lordship, Kenneth Edem in ruling said “I also find that this court was misled by Exhibit C of the defendant which was a product of dishonest conduct involved concealing vital information relevant to the consideration of the application before the court on 16/6/2023”.

Even though no cost was issued against the Registrar, the judge directed that his conduct be referred to the Chief Justice as a matter of “urgency”.
