50 ACTIVE NDC CAMPAIGNERS AND OTHER 1,150 SUPPORTERS DEFECTS TO NPP IN SEFWI AKONTOMBRA CONSTITUENCY

Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress in the Sefwi Akontombra constituency within the western north region have defected to the ruling New Patriotic party NPP.

The defectors were numbering 50 active campaigners that were made up of former and current party executives and other one thousand, one hundred and fifty supporters of NDC.

At press conference held at Akontombra party office to welcome the defected members which includes former and current executives from various communities like Aprutu, Bawa, Bowohomodin and Anhwiafutu all in the Sefwi Akontombra constituency.

Mr Osei Joseph, former Aprutu 'A' chairman,who double as the leader of the defectors who have joined NPP party said their reason was due to unfair treatment to some of them during their branch elections and also what actually motivated them to join npp was developmental projects being executed by the members of parliament for Akontombra hon. Alex Tetteh and NPP government was tremendous that they have to support and campaign vigorously for him to maintain power coming 2024 elections.


Mr Osei Joseph and other defected group leaders including northerners spoke to the media.


Mr. Isaac Ekyia Addae, Akontombra constituency chairman of NPP disclosed that, about ten days ago, it came to news that, few NPP members have defected to opposition NDC for no reason and for that matter they didn't relent on their feet but rather did a follow up till they have also gotten 50 active campaign team members with other one thousand and over to join NPP as a result of good work by the member of Parliament hon. Alex Tetteh.



Director for Research and Elections for western north NPP, Mr Samuel Kofi Abiaw spoke to the media to welcome the defectors to NPP for their willingness of joining the party all in the name of good policies and projects by president Akuffo Addo and member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra constituency.

He appealed to the defectors to stay in the party forever to propagate the good news to their fellow.
