ABUAKWA NORTH: NDC CONSTITUENCY YOUTH ORGANISER SETTLES HOSPITAL BILLS FOR PATIENTS

Mr. Edmund Duah popularly known as Shaker, the youth organiser for the Abuakwa North Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the eastern region, has once again shown his compassion by settling hospital bills for four patients at the Akyem Tafo government hospital's maternity ward. This act of kindness was done to commemorate his birthday.

In an interview with journalists, Mr. Duah revealed that he has been paying hospital bills for patients every year on his birthday for the past five years, and he intends to continue this tradition.

Mr. Duah also criticized the Nana Addo-led government, accusing them of being insensitive to the healthcare needs of the people. He argued that if the government genuinely believed in providing free maternal health services, he would not have had to personally pay for the expenses incurred by these patients. Some of the expenses he covered included the cost of blood transfusion .

Madam Atta Panin Afriyie, the dedicated head of Maternity Ward at Tafo Government Hospital, has expressed her gratitude towards Mr. Duah for his generous contributions. She emphasized that despite the existence of a national health insurance scheme, it does not cover all expenses. As a result, she appeal to affluent people in the community to also emulate Mr. Duah's kind gesture.

Mr. Edmund Duah's donation will alleviate the financial burden on patients and also ensure access to quality healthcare.
