AFCFTA ORGANIZED A DAY TRAINING FOR WOMEN AND YOUTH IN MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

Women and Youth in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Sefwi-wiawso Municipality have received a day capacity training on how to trade under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA).

The training forms part of efforts to empower businesses to leverage the opportunities offered by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

The training was Organised by the National AFCFTA Coordination Office (NCO) while the participants were taken through all kinds of modules such as registaring of their businesses, standard and requirements, packaging and branding of their businesses.

Speaking to Hon.Catherine Afieku,former MP for Evalue-Gwira constituency, former Minister of Tourism,Arts and Culture and currently the senior Advisor for National AFCFTA Coordination Office (NCO) stated that western North Region was among the few regions that have been selected due to its natural resources and the raw materials and with a little help to boost the Small and Medium Enterprises for opportunities not only Ghana and also outside the country.



Hon.Catherine said they have observed alot of food stuffs and also other resources like cocoa which will bring exporters here in the region and their target is to exports to 20 companies.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Chief Executive,Hon.Louis Owusu Agyapong was optimistic that, African Continental Free Trade Agreement will help to boost local products and used the opportunity to encourage the local business minded people to embrace it.
Some of the participants who are into local businesses and received the training expressed their profound gratitude to AFCFTA.
