Agriculture is the backbone of Ghana’s economy, and plays a key role in the country’s future development.

It is, therefore, imperative that we invest heavily in agriculture.

According to Dr Apraku, now that the world is facing serious food and financial crises, the prices of essential commodities, particularly of food items, has risen beyond the reach of the common man. I will invest heavily in Agric and Agro-processing to revive Ghana's economy;

He expressed that Farmers are facing a lot of challenges such as.

1.low level of mechanization;

2. high post-harvest losses due to poor post-harvest management;

3. low level agricultural finance;

4. poor extension services due to institutional and structural inefficiencies;

6. low uptake of research findings by stakeholders;

7. limited availability of improved technological packages, especially planting materials and certified seeds;

8. inadequate markets;

9. poor management along the agriculture value chain, and difficulties associated with acquisition of land.

He pledged to support farmers and will use agricultural and Agro-processing to transform Ghana's economy if elected.
