AKUAPEM MANGOASE RESIDENTS UPSET OVER POOR ROAD NETWORKS



Residents of Mangoase in the Akuapem North Municipal of the Eastern Region are upset over the bad nature of roads in the area, and appealed to the Government to rehabilitate particularly the 13.5 kilometers Tinkong to Mangoase road.

Mr. Justice Siaw (Mandela) assembly member of the said the reshaping of the killer roads would facilitate smooth and easy movements of the people and their economic activities.

Hon. Mandela on 31st December, 2022 and the residents expressed worry over that the gulley nature of the Mangoase Township to Tinkong roads was also affecting vehicular movement and health.

Hon. Mandela indicated that it is extremely difficult for the traders to transport their produce to adjoining communities for sale due to the deplorable nature of the roads linking the communities.

He said commercial drivers were also unwilling to ply the roads linking communities in the area because of the poor conditions of the road networks.

He stressed that commercial drivers changed higher prices because of gulley roads and numerous potholes developed on the Mangoase to Tinkong, Adawso and Nsawam roads, had worsened, they spent much on vehicle maintenance, a situation he added had forced many commercial drivers to stop plying the road.



Mr. Justice has added that it is a real struggle for residents to ply the road from nearby communities to the Mangoase health center due to the deplorable roads network.



He explained that the bad state of Mangoase Township roads, vehicles are unable to move to the health center thus, forcing pregnant women, sick patients to resort to commercial motorbikes, popularly known as ‘Okada’, for their daily movement under high price charges.

Hon. Mandela therefore, appealed to the Government, Akuapem Municipal Assembly stakeholders and non-governmental organisations to reshape the deplorable roads network mutuable and better live.
