ATIWA WEST: CHIEFTAINCY DISPUTE OUR IMPEDING DEVELOPMENT...RESIDENTS LAMENT





Some angry faction and residents of Akyem Awenare in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern region have lamented that their community is in a total dismay since economic activities have been suspended due to the existing chieftaincy dispute which was recently intensified and the situation is seriously impeding the development and growth of the area.




Speaking during a press conference at Akyem Awenare where the angry residents were clad in red arm bands and uniforms, led by the Asafoatse of Akyem Awenare , Kwaku Agyarko explained that the residents live in fear as students are not able to attend schools and farmers cannot also go to their farms , this he said has plunged the resident into deep starvation and among others, bringing economic activities and development to a halt.


He further appealed to the Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, and the Regional House Chiefs to deal with the issue once and for all to ensure that fairness prevail to restore peace and order in the community to foster development.
