CONFIDENTIALITY ASSURED; DON'T SHY AWAY FROM MEDICAL EXAM

Dr Stephen Bakete of Serendipity Hospital has encouraged men to develop interest in regular Medical Checkup as well as in Health Screening in order to detect early symptoms of ailments.

He said medical examination and health screening are the proper practices by which symptoms of ailments could be detected.
He said early detection of symptoms enhances complete cure or proper management of all diseases.

Furthermore, Dr Stephen Bakete assured the members and men in general of strict confidentiality between him, other medical practitioners and all patients who come before him/them.

He said by the ethics of their profession, they do not and would never disclose anyone's health condition to any other person including wives and husbands of the sick unless the sick person desires to get it disclosed.
With the assurance given, Dr Bakete encouraged men to come out of their shelves in confidence and walk in to do medical screening or medical checkups.

Commenting on the objective of Men's Fellowship, the
President,
Martin Osafo-Adjei, said the group decided on this full medical screening to prevent sudden death of any of the members.

He said quite often, women frequent hospitals to do checkup of all forms in feminine health including breast cancer and ovarian cysts.
He said as a result of that positive step, women enjoy early medical treatment, their health challenges are effectively managed to grant them good health and longer life than men.

He said unlike women, men toil day in and out for good finances to maintain their homes but shy away from hospitals and choose to suffer in silence.

Brother Martin Osafo-Adjei said it is believed that by this bad practice men are often reported to have collapsed and die suddenly.
President Osafo-Adjei said this sad end should not be the portion of any member of the Fellowship hence, this encouragement, assurance of privacy and the full day medical examination to make them know their health status, to go on prescribed drugs to make them healthy and to make them live long to do the work of God.
