DRIVE WITH CAUTION IN THIS FESTIVE SEASON - WN-NRSA BOSS TO MOTORIST'S



In Ghana, it is not uncommon to experience a rise in road crashes during festive occasions.
Road Safety week is celebrated in third week of November in every year and this year under the theme justice.

In a bid to prevent vehicular accidents this festive season, western north regional head of the National Road Safety Authority NRSA, Mr Victor kojo Bilson as part of the Road Safety week has urged motorists to desist from acts that will result in the loss of lives on the roads.

He said as we all know and witnessed that on records, over the years road accidents are on the high rate when Christmas festive is approaching which resulted to death and injuries.

Mr Victor entreated the drivers not to be in hurry or in a rush but to arrive safely to save lives matters.

Staff of the national road safety authority NRSA were thoughts both on theory and practically on how to become first Aiders to respond to road accidents before Ambulance service interventions.

Commenting on the training supervised by St john Ambulance service, Mr Victor added it's was important to used parts of the road safety week to train the staff on how to respond to accident victims in the line of duty to assist causalities.



He expressed much gratitude to the facilitator for taking the staff through series of training.



Mr Richard Agbonu western north regional coordinator for St john Ambulance service said road safety is a shared responsibility to everyone in other to protect lives.



According to him, due to the improper manner some people handled casualties at an accident scene sometimes resulted to many deaths.
Mr Richard added that it's very essential for the staff at the national road safety authority NRSA to learn how to attend to victims who may involved in an accident as first Aiders before the Ambulance service intervened and how to talk to ambulance service for an emergency response.
He entreated drivers to acquire proper first Aid boxes in their vehicles to be used in case of emergency
