E/R: Abuakwa North MP Hands Over Osiem New Market Project To Assembly


Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo popularly called Hajia Kande, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Education incharge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has handed over Akyem Osiem Market project to the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly.

The seventy-two (72) open market sheds with a borehole and lockable warehouse according to the Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo was funded by the Middle Belt Development Authority.

Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, admonished the beneficiaries of the market to honour their tax obligations for sustainable development of the country.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Middle Belt Authority, Mrs Joyce Opoku Boateng, on her part also advised that the project was given the needed protection to fulfill its purpose hence the ancillaries.

She emphasized that, the Municipal Assembly will run it on behalf of the Authority therefore charging hawkers along the streets to take space in the market to avoid any unfortunate incidents.



Honourable Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North, upon receiving the project thanked the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration and Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo for her lobbying skills.



He further cautioned beneficiary traders not to re rent the sheds to others as they acquire them to avoid sanctions from the Assembly.
