E/R I WOULD CONTINUE TO SUPPORT EDUCATION -HON KOFI OKYERE AGYEKUM

Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South Constituency of the Eastern Region of Ghana, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum a.k.a Arafat has stated emphatically that, he would whole heartedly support educational programs whenever and wherever he gets the prompt to do so.

Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum made his intention public at Osino, at the forecourt of the Fanteakwa South District Directorate of Education where he met with a total of one thousand two hundred (1,200) final year Junior High School (JHS) students who have been prepared from Osino Presbyterian JHS, Roman Catholic JHS, Methodist JHS, Islamic JHS and District Assembly JHS to write the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Hon Kofi Okyere Agyekum boosted the morale of the students when he presented each of them with a mathematical set.

Hon. Okyere Agyekum told the students to go into the examination with seriousness in order to acquire solid foundation for whatever aspirations they have.

He said without solid foundation, it would not be easy to progress into the arena of doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, lawyers or any other technocrat and as such, they should do much revision of what they have been taught and go into the examination centres with confidence to write.

He said he believes that if the students avoid all forms of examination malpractices, they would pass with good grades and that would boost his morale the more, to support their entry into Senior Secondary Schools (SHS).

He gave three thousand Ghana cedis to support the movement of officers from the education directorate to do monitoring and five thousand Ghana cedis to motivate the teachers for devoting their weekends to teach the students.

Hon Kofi Okyere Agyekum said his zeal in the matters of education has urged him to build new classroom blogs at Osino, Hemang, Bosuso, Dome, Nsuapemso, Nkankama, Nsutam, Jampomani and Bepoase and then rehabilated school blogs at Abompe, Juaso, Ehiamenkyene and a few other towns including Kwakusua where construction of a new school blog is to begin.

The one thousand two hundred mathematical sets for the students, were received by the District Director of education, Richard Adane Akosa Addo for onward distribution to all of them.

In his acknowledgement, the District Director, Richard Addo, praised the MP, Hon Okyere Agyekum for supporting the directorate in particular and education in general.

He mentioned reconditioning of their pickup engine and sponsoring of mock examination for all the JHS 3 students in the district as some of the support they have enjoyed from the honourable Member of Parliament and praised him for those.

He said from the MP's occasional visits to the directorate, discussions made coupled with suggestions and contributions he makes, he can confidently say that the honourable member would continue to support education to a very high standard.
