Eastern Patriots Acknowledge President Akufo-Addo's Commitment to Ghanaian Cocoa Farmers

Eastern Patriots, a group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party in the Eastern Region of Ghana, wishes to express our profound appreciation to His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his recent decision to increase the cocoa price purchase per bag to GHC1,308 in the new Cocoa season.

We commend the President for his dedication to the sustainable growth and well-being of Ghana's vital cocoa industry which over the years under his administration has seen some level of improvement.

Under President Akufo-Addo's visionary leadership, Ghana has witnessed remarkable progress in various sectors, and the agricultural industry has not been left behind. Under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led government we have seen the cutting replanting of old cocoa trees, the registration of farmers onto the Social Security and National Insurance Trust ( SSNIT) which is currently ongoing and expected to register 1.5 million farmers and the recent increment in cocoa price purchase is a testament to his administration's commitment to uplifting the lives and livelihoods of our hardworking cocoa farmers whose services have been phenomenal in the development of the country.

Cocoa has been an essential pillar of Ghana's economy for decades, and it is imperative that farmers are adequately compensated for their tireless efforts.

Eastern Patriots believe that the revised cocoa price purchase will enable farmers to improve their living conditions and contribute to the sustainable development of our country.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Honorable Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Agriculture and the member of Parliament for the good people of Abetifi, for his relentless efforts in driving positive change in the agricultural sector since his appointment some months ago. His dedication and unwavering commitment to the well-being of Ghanaian farmers have played a crucial role in achieving this milestone.

Eastern Patriots pledge our unwavering support and commitment to the vision and policies of President Akufo-Addo's government. We applaud his efforts to transform Ghana's economy through sustainable agriculture and commend his administration for taking decisive action to support cocoa farmers in this country.

Finally,we remain committed to working hand in hand with the government in the pursuit of a prosperous and equitable Ghana and also admonish farmers to take advantage of the Phase ll of the government flagship programme, Planting for food and Jobs.
