THE HISTORICAL ODWIRA FESTIVAL OF YAKOKO START YESTERDAY, 26th DECEMBER

Yakoko has been an old town in the eastern Region of Ghana,to be precise Ayensuano district.


This is their first time of celebrating their traditional festival popular know as odwira.


The town has been an old town but the leadership has not been in a good shape,until one noble man was enstool as the chief of the town.


BARIMAH OKATA AMOA II happened to be the noble man enstool as the chief of the town.


BARIMAH OKATA AMOA II has lay down a good measures for developing the township to the extend of everyone's prayer points.


Many developmental projects has been put in place which most has 90% completion,and this projects include a chief palace,desk for students, construction of roads etc.


BARIMAH OKATA AMOA II has changed the whole view of yakoko township with many historical projects, which he has include the odwira festival that has never happened before.


BARIMAH OKATA AMOA II and his traditional council has finally set to celebrate YAKOKO ODWIRA FESTIVAL as their first time in history.


BARIMAH OKATA AMOA II Main interest in this odwira festival is to honour the ancestors and their great ground father's.



YAKOKO ODWIRA FESTIVAL started yesterday 26th of December 2022 and will be ending on the 1st of January 2023.


The fellowing are the program line up for the beginning to the end of the YAKOKO ODWIRA FESTIVAL,


26th of December,,
Homecoming and clean up exercise

27th of December,,,
Cooking competition which starts at 9:00am

28th of December,,,
Health screening and lightning of festival flame, starts at 9am to 8pm.


29th of December.
Float and soccer competition (GALA)
7am to 10am


30th of December,,
Feeding of ancestors and DANCE BAND.
10am to 10pm.

31st of December
Durbar for chiefs and fundraising
10am to 11pm

1st January 2023,
Thanks giving service.
