The incredible voyage from Accra to London, which was over 10,000 kilometres long, was successfully finished by CEO Franklin Peters and his son Quincy. The remarkable photograph was captured by Jean Landre, who is based in the United Kingdom (seen in the middle photo), and Wanderlust Ghana.
The incredible journey from Accra to London, which was 10,000 kilometres long, was successfully finished by InkIt CEO Franklin Peters and his son Quincy. The remarkable photograph was captured by Jean Landre, who is based in the United Kingdom (seen in the middle photo), and Wanderlust Ghana.
A Ghanaian father and his son, who is 19 years old, were a part of the daring group from Wanderlust Ghana, a courageous Ghanaian team that attempted a stunning 10,000 mile journey from Accra to London. The voyage began in Accra and ended in London.

Alongside his son, Quincy, Franklin Peters, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of InkIt Ghana Limited, a well-known signs and digital printing company with headquarters in New Town, Accra, accepted the challenge and participated.

Their choice of vehicle for this risky attempt was a Lexus RX350, which stood out among the other vehicles because it was the most unusual option available to them among the vehicles that were competing.

During the journey from Accra to London, the convoy stopped in Fotamana, and the CEO of InkIt, Franklin Peters, was seen switching from his Lexus to a G-Wagon while wearing a red T-shirt. The convoy was travelling from Ghana to the United Kingdom.
In addition, the fleet comprised of two Land Cruisers, a Ford Raptor, and a powerful Mercedes G63 that was fondly referred to as the G-Wagon.

The fact that Quincy Peters's father, Franklin, planned to travel alone was a major factor in the decision that Quincy would accompany his father on his trip.
During the entirety of the journey, Quincy served not only as a driver, but also as a co-driver, taking the wheel whenever it was required of him.

Their journey, on the other hand, was not devoid of difficulties in any way. As they got closer to Bamako, Mali, the brake pads on their Lexus started to overheat, which reduced their ability to stop the vehicle effectively.

This scenario affected the automobiles of the other members of the squad as well, with the exception of the dependable G-Wagon.

The crew reported in a live broadcast that the Ghanaian Mission in Bamako was gracious enough to give an escort as well as assistance in arranging rooms and food, providing them with a sense of comfort and familiarity along the way.

A member of the crew named Kwabena Peprah said that the proximity of our location to the town made it possible for us to move slowly while our escort planned a meeting with a mechanic at the Consulate.

To everyone's relief, spare brake pads were easily accessible, which significantly improved their already difficult situation.

As the trip progressed, Frank had difficulties of his own along the way. He discovered that in order to keep up with the pace and navigate around the hazards, he needed to drive in a more aggressive manner.

In the end, he made the decision to follow in the footsteps of his fellow explorers and investigate the off-road area that they had come across.

Mr. Peprah provided further elaboration on Frank's experience, bringing attention to the fact that the Lexus RX350 lacked skid plates, which led to the undercarriage of the vehicle suffering some minor damage.

This incident caused a dent at the oil intake site, which led to issues with the oil pump and, as a result, rendered the all-wheel drive system inoperable.

The group navigated their way to Kayes with dogged persistence and arrived there just in time to seek assistance from a mechanic before midnight. In this section, the mechanic was instructed on how to do the necessary repairs, which included adjusting the oil intake and changing the brakes.

In addition, Franklin Peters has been lauded for embarking on such a momentous voyage alongside his son, all while braving the inherent dangers that come with doing such an extensive adventure.

The Wanderlust Ghana Team Social media has been flooded with compliments for the achievement, particularly after the team's triumphal arrival in London on August 6, 2023, completing the long journey, which was the culmination of the feat.

Nine of the participants made it to the United Kingdom region at the end of the 16-day voyage, which was undertaken to raise cash against the prevalence of digital poverty in rural areas of Ghana.

During this time, it was established by Quincy in a quick interview that the driver of the G-Wagon was experiencing difficulties with his visa.

Despite this, this incredible act has sparked conversations about how essential it is for fathers and boys to engage in activities together that help them form closer friendships.
