The Source Of Gargantuan Amount Of Money Found In Cecil's Accounts And House Must Be Disclosed - MP

Dr. Clement Apaak, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, stated that Ghanaians are waiting for complete disclosure on the source of the various sums of money that were found in the various accounts of the former Minister of Sanitation Cecilia.

The congressman believes that the revelation brings up fundamental questions, and the public is anxious to know where the various sums of money that the former minister got from.

The sums of money that were found in the frozen bank accounts of the former Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, have been made public by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Cecilia Dapaah's accounts at Prudential Bank contained $5 million and 48 million, according to the OSP, which found the funds.

The Office uncovered 700,000 cedis in cash in her Societe General account in addition to the one million cedis in investments that were found there.

During the search that took place at her home in Abelemkpe, an amount of cash equaling $590,000 was discovered.

At the same location, a total of $2,730,000 in cash was found to have been stashed away.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged theft that occurred at her private apartment while her two former house helps were employed there, these accounts have been placed on hold.

In response to the recent revelation, Dr. Apaak stated that Ghanaians are curious about the origin of the enormous sums of money, as well as the money that was reportedly stolen from her home by the people who previously worked there.

He said the following in a tweet: "Dapaah – According to Joyfm, accounts frozen by the OSP so far had: Prudential Bank; $5 Million, gh48 Million; SGSSB; gh1 Million, gh700k." Ghanaians are waiting with bated breath to find out the origin of these enormous quantities of money, in addition to the $590k, gh2.7M from her other property and the $1M, £300k, and gh350k that were stolen.

The Member of Parliament asserted that there was a conspiracy to conceal the truth regarding the situation involving Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah.

He asserts that the action taken by the Attorney General may have been influenced by the memo that was distributed by the government to official communicators, as well as the subsequent findings that were submitted by the government communicators in accordance with the requirements.

In an internal letter, the Ministry of Information directed all District Information Officers to create a situation report on public reaction to the Cecilia Abena Dapaah case. This memo was distributed to all District Information Officers.

They were given the directive to prepare a report on the alleged undeclared riches, the public reaction to her departure, and the public reaction to the statement made by President Akufo-Addo in response to the former minister's resignation.

Dr. Apaak is of the opinion that the report that was handed in to the Ministry was responsible for informing the facts of the case that were outlined in the letter from the Attorney General.

He added that the facts as supplied by the Attorney General are an attempt to cover up the issue and guarantee that the former minister is cleared of any wrongdoing. He also stated that the facts are presented in an attempt to protect the Attorney General.
