Ayensuano NNP PC aspirant builds tissue factory

As part of measures to ease the unemployment burden on the government, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Ayensuano New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries, Ida Adwoa Asiedu, is putting up an ultra-modern tissue factor at Asuboi.

The factory, when completed, would give direct jobs to over 300 youths in the constituency and the Eastern Region, as a whole, and also provide thousands of indirect jobs to the youth.

The factory is currently 70% complete at Asuboi on the main Accra-Kumasi highway.
It will produce tissues such at toilet toll, face towel, A-4 sheets, among others.

Speaking in an interview, Madam Ida Asiedu said one of the challenges facing the constituency and that of the Region has been unemployment and so she is willing to contribute her quota to end the high unemployment rate in the constituency.

She explained that “it is left with just 30% to complete and it will ease unemployment in this constituency”.

“The tissue factory is to provide direct employment to over 300 youths and indirect employment to thousands to ease unemployment rate the constituency,” the aspirant explained.

Asked why she wants to contest the seat, Madam Asiedu explained that apart from the support to some constituents, she believes gaining political power will enable her do more for the constituency.

Apart from the factory, Madam Asiedu said she is also into farming to create jobs for the constituency.

“I am into fish farming to also create jobs and I hope to do more should I become the MP for Ayensuano Constituency. I am also into poultry farming.”

Madam Asiedu said in all these farming, those who are interested would be employed.

Roads
Revealing her contributions to the roads sector in the constituency, Madam Adwoa Asiedu explained that even though the capital of the constituency is Coaltar, it cannot boast of a single road of coal tar.

She said apart from the main Accra-Kumasi Highway, which is in the middle of the constituency and as such does not belong to the constituency, there is no single kilometer road in the constituency which has been constructed.

Madam Adwoa Asiedu said as part of her contributions, she has graded several kilometers of roads to make them motorable for residents.

She added that more needs to be done by given these roads a befitting status.

Education and health
Commenting on her contributions to the health and educational needs of her constituents, the businesswoman said she has helped to pay for the school fees and hospital bills of some constituents who were in need.

She promised to institute educational funds to support the constituents should she become the parliamentary candidate and possibly the member of parliament for the constituency in the 2024 election.

Competitors in the primary
Currently, among the main contender of the primary are the former MP, Samuel Ayeh Paye, and the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Mark Okraku-Mantey.

But Madam Adwoa Asiedu believes she stands out due to what she has been able to do for the constituency.

She is urging the NPP delegates to vote for her for more development.
