Chieftaincy minister clarifies misinformation on Akim Kotoku mineral royalties

Stephen Asamoah Boateng, minister of chieftaincy and religious affairs, has put an end to the persistent rumors over the significant mineral royalties that went to the Akim Kotoku traditional council.

The MP for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, brought the rumors to light when he questioned the Minister about the sum of money received in royalties from the Newmount corporation during a parliamentary press conference.

After speaking with the reporters in front of the House of Representatives, MP Akwasi Aquah said that the mining royalties amassed by the Akim Kotoku traditional council are not as large as had been previously assumed.

He made this declaration after asking Mr. Asamoah Boateng about it.

Mr. Boateng revealed the reason for the alleged absence during the press conference.
