George Alhassan expresses sorrow for selecting Ghana over Burkina Faso to play for.
George Alhassan, a former forward for the Black Stars, said he now regrets playing for Ghana rather than Burkina Faso.
Alhassan played for the West African nation for more than ten years and took home two AFCON championships in 1978 and 1982.
The 67-year-old, who was born in Ghana, might have represented Burkina Faso because of his father's origins.
The Great Olympics icon remarked in an interview that he regrets not representing the nation of his father's birth and gave unfulfilled promises to him and the previous team of players that won the AFCON as the cause.
"I wish I had participated for Burkina Faso. I was born and raised in Burkina Faso.
