Reno Omokri reacts as Doyin Okupe back Tinubu's move against Niger Republic

Reno Omokri, a lawyer and social media figure, reacted as Doyin Okupe backed President Tinubu's move against Niger Republic. Doyin Okupe was quoted as saying, "I support President Tinubu."

Reno provided his response in the form of a tweet that was just published on his official Twitter account.

The democratically elected President Bazoum of Niger was overthrown by members of the military on July 26, 2023, and the country is now ruled by a military government. Following a meeting with several other ECOWAS leaders the previous Sunday, President Tinubu, who is also the chairman of ECOWAS, condemned the coup and issued an order and an ultimatum giving Niger seven days to reinstate democratic rule.

As of right now, President Tinubu has addressed a letter to the Senate to ask for cooperation in an effort to restore democracy in Niger and penalise the country if they fail to do the right thing after an ultimatum period of seven days has passed.

In a tweet, the former Director General of the Obi-Datti campaign, Doyin Okupe, expressed his support for the choice made by President Tinubu.

I am not recommending that we engage in armed conflict with Niger. But Niger has no business making fun of Nigeria. As a loyal citizen, I cannot tolerate such treatment. We must not remain silent due to the disagreements that exist among our ranks and permit this to take place. The presidency is not a lifetime position. Everyone needs to do their part to defend that seat, because otherwise it won't be worth the struggle.

Reno Omokri, who may or may not have read Doyin Okupe's tweet, penned the following.(to some extent)

I find it quite impressive that a renowned Obidient like Doyin Okupe can openly come out against the dominant opinion of his movement and call for unity behind Nigeria's president in order to defend any threats to Nigeria and the maintenance of democracy in Niger republic. This is something that I find very impressive.

"Perhaps Peter Obi will publicly criticise in the interest of patriotism rather than partisanship, as opposed to. Those in his movement who are abusing their right to free speech by openly calling for a military coup in Nigeria and attempting to undermine our government by supporting the action of the putschists are guilty of abuse.
