'Bad Strategist' Comment Not Aimed at Vice President Bawumia - Ken Agyapong

Ken Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has clarified that his recent comment about a "bad strategist" was not directed towards Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, but rather a colleague lawmaker.

Last week, his statement sparked a heated debate in political circles, leading to widespread speculation that the MP had insulted the Vice President, whom he holds in high regard.

During a recent campaign tour of the Upper West region, Mr. Agyapong criticized certain individuals within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their poor strategic planning, which, he believes, negatively impacts the party's reputation.

However, he has now set the record straight, explaining that his remarks were not aimed at Vice President Bawumia. In fact, he commended Vice President Bawumia's strategic thinking and demonstrated competency, stating that the Vice President has repeatedly shown his ability to effectively strategize for the party and the country as a whole.

"My comment was intended to address several NPP members who make ill-advised decisions, not Vice President Bawumia," Mr. Agyapong clarified during an interview with Home Radio in the Upper West Region.

Despite the clarification, the NPP Presidential hopeful acknowledged that there are indeed some members within the party who need to reevaluate their approaches. He urged the party's leadership to promptly identify and rectify these issues to ensure the party's continued success.

Moreover, Mr. Agyapong expressed disappointment with the media for not always disseminating the full stories on issues. He pointed out that a portion of his speech was taken out of context in the story that circulated the untrue comment about Dr. Bawumia.
