How armed robbers seized pickup vehicle, escape with cash over GHC30,000

In a daring late-night incident, a group of heavily armed robbers targeted a pickup vehicle belonging to Zonda Tech Ghana Company Ltd, snatching it from the driver at gunpoint and making off with an amount of GH¢39,000.

The incident took place at the entrance of the company in Sabin Akrofrom at around 11 pm.

The driver, accompanied by another individual, had traveled from Tema to the Ashanti Region and was entering the premises of Zonda Tech Ghana Company Ltd when the hoodlums struck.
Displaying sophisticated weapons, the four assailants ordered the occupants of the vehicle to exit or face the threat of being shot.

Understandably panicked, the occupants complied and left behind a significant sum of GH¢39,000 and an iPhone as they disembarked from the vehicle.
Following the incident, Bright Acheampong of Adjamasu and Yan Xing, the branch manager of Zonda Tech Ghana Company Ltd, reported the incident to the Trede Police.

Authorities were promptly alerted, and the Ashanti Regional Control Room disseminated a lookout message to aid in the search for the perpetrators.

Subsequently, a combined team of patrol officers located the abandoned vehicle in Patase, Kumasi. Unfortunately, the stolen GH¢39,000 was missing from the vehicle, although the iPhone was recovered inside.

At present, no arrests have been made, as the police continue their ongoing investigations into the matter. Updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
