Obour is the only successful artist in Ghana from the 90s - Shatta Wale

Dancehall King Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale has said most of the musicians from the 90s including Samini have not been successful with their career.

According to him, most of these musicians weren’t successful in their lives because they didn’t see the business side of their career and the industry also wasn’t good enough for them to make the money they deserved when they were at their peak.

“I can make mention of musicians like Samini, KK Fosu, Obrafour, let’s come down to Kwadae. Amongst the people I came to meet in the industry, I can say that the only successful person I have known from that generation is Obour.” Shatta Wale said this on Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

The One God hitmaker further revealed that, Obour became successful not because he joined politics but because he knew exactly what he wanted

“Obour is not successful because he is a politician, I have stayed with Obour before, Obour is a business minded person. He is so careful with his money and very attentive with things that he wants to do. When you look at his videos, he always want some kind of looks, he knows what he wants”, Shatta Wale said.

Speaking with Ogidi Brown in his interview, the SM boss categorically stated that, he sometimes become scared about what his future is going to be if he does not make enough money.
