"Danger, misfortunes looming at Donyina if a new queen is not installed" - Investigator and corruption fighter petitions Otumfour

The executive director for Corruption Combat International, Nana Kwadwo Amoah Ampem Okogyeabour, has petitioned the Ashanti Overlord, Otumfour Osei II, to as a matter of urgency, intervene in the installation process of a new queen mother at Donyina.

According to him, it was very unfortunate that some people including the chief of Donyina had been a stumbling block to the process, adding that the absence of a queen mother for the past years has brought so many misfortunes to the community including indiscipline, disunity, teenage pregnancies amongst others.

The investigator further discloses in his petition letter that the Donyina chief who is not even a royal member of the community was put on the throne under consideration, according to history.

According to him, the chief has now surrounded himself with some strangers who are also not royals of the stool, and is now using some dubious means to bring in a new queen mother to replace the old one who is dead.



He said most of the sub-chiefs and linguists have been sweeping real issues under the carpet in connivance with the chief.

He further reveals that there has been lots of stool land sales without proper accountabilities.

"The community royal family brought out a new queen mother which the chief insisted. This led to a misunderstanding that forced the other faction to incur Otumfour's wrath upon the chief for rejecting the qualified candidate", he said.

He further reveals that, Otumfour who got notice of the case later asked the chief and his elders to go and settle the matter for peace to reign.

According to him, the Donyina chief has since defied Otumfour's orders by not settling any issue, hence the delay in the installation of a new queen mother.

He said he foresees misfortunes should there be any delay in installing a new queen mother for Donyina.

The executive director who doubles as the great grandson of Otumfour Osei Tutu I and also the investigative chief for the Manhyia palace is therefore appealing to Otumfour Osei Tutu II to as a matter of urgency intervene in the matter, and call to order anyone who may be found culpable so that a new queen mother may be installed.

His Royal Majesty, I humbly write with the greatest respect a petition on the above subject matter which caught your attention on 28TH August, 2023.

Nana Osei Tutu I gave the Donyina stool to Dankwa Brafo Bretuo Royal Family as Adeasefo for the male and female stools.

It is the stool of land that has gone to our sons (Ahwa) but the Obaapanin/ hemaa and Abusuapanin stools have always been with the Royal Dankwa Brafo Bretuo.

The current chief from Bretuo family requested the stool from the Queenmother Akosua Gyamfua Boahemaa which she did because he was a man of substance but not a royal.

Nana Donyinahene's grand uncle, uncle Kwame Akom and Kwabena Amoah came from Wabri and Bretuo "b3to ana 3w)ho Bretuo abusua" Kwabena Amoah and Sister Abena Asibue Agyaponmaa is the mother of Donyina chief and sister, Abena Hun and Adwoa Gyamfua Yiaka.

There is no blood relation with the two clans because Donyinahene had affair mutually with Ohemaa Yaa (Dankwa dehye3) and had a child. Apart from the queen mother which you ordered to jointly bury her, on no account have we held funeral with Donyinahene family.

His majesty, Donyinahene said Opanin Appiah Kwarteng is his brother and blood relation but the queen mother's son Abusuapanin Appiah Amankwah is not a family member.

But Opanin Appiah Kwarteng told the whole congregation gathered before you that he has no blood relation with Donyinahene which is the truth.

My Lord, it is palpable falsehood for Donyinahene to claim he has blood relation with Opanin Kwarteng because he had marital issues with Opanin Kwarteng's cousin which will be an incest taboo indeed.

During the swearing in, Obrempong sworn an oath to tell you the truth and nothing but the truth.This is not a respect to the Golden Stool My Lord.

With all respect, the following are directives given by Otumfour Osei Tutu II (Asantehene). Donyinahene, one of the Royals invoked the Great Oath of Asante Kingdom three times, that Donyinahene was not a Royal of the queen and in your wisdom, you spared him.You directed that chief should continue to rule Donyina and The Head of family play the role of Abusuapanin.

i. Donyinahene should swear to Gyaasehene
ii. Gyaasehene also should swear to Donyinahene and present Donyinahene to Donyinaman. With all due respect, all the directives were ignored to date.
✓ He picked a non-royal from Asene clan, Fosu Debrah to be The Head of the family and dumped the queen mother's Head of family as Abusuapanin. 'Watu mfuturo agu Nana ne Sika Dwa anim'.
✓ Again, for good seven years, community meetings on Easter to discuss the town's development and progress has been suspended since he heard the Royal family wanted to introduce the Queens daughter as her successor to the throne. He has ignored Dankwa Brafo Royal family members in all his dealings as surrounded himself with non-royals. He rules from his residence at Gyinaase through his linguist and sub-chiefs.
✓ There is no freedom of speech/ expression and conscience.This basic freedom of fundamental human rights abused in Donyina and coercion and intimidation when (Adeasefo) meet.
✓ Again, his linguist Yaw Barima has sold quiet a number of stool lands un-accounted for and domicile in USA five months ago. His properties are being investigated and injunction by the Donyinahene.
✓ NKONSONHENE, Nana Osie tire forced, persuaded Abusuapanin Appiah Kwarteng to admit that the oath was invalid(Ntamhunu) as a condition before the Gyaasefokuo can present the case (Ntam) to your Royal Highness and that Donyinahene has blood relation with Opanin Appiah Kwarteng and not Queen mothers Abusuapanin Appiah Amankwah.
✓ More importantly for twenty two(22) years Donyinahene does not know where the queen mother's stool is, has not ask for it and perform customary rites on the stool at Akwasidae/Wukudae."Wamma Nananom Nsamanfo) abua ada mfie aduonu mmienu nie".
✓ My Lord, it is in the light of the verifiable facts that I write a petition on behalf of the queen mother's family for you to intervene so that the nominated daughter of the queen can succed her mother Akosua Gyamfua Boahemaa and Grandmother Nana Yaa Dankwaa.
