Stan Dogbe apologises for his strong language over persons critical of Joyce Bawah Mogtari

On May 7, 2023, this blog carried a story regarding the abandoning of NDC's flag bearer and former President, John Dramani Mahama's campaign by his special aide - Joyce Bawah Mogtari - in support of her husband.

Her husband, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari is contesting in the NDC's Parliamentary Primaries in Wa Central Constituency for the third time to try to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Hassan Abdul -Rashid Pelpuo.

The other two contenders are Lawyer Wahid Bampuori-Iddrisu and Lawyer Abubakar Mutiu Rahaman.

As a result of opting for the campaign of her husband over that of John Mahama, Madam Joyce Mogtari came under severe critisms for her actions which my regarded as a sign of disloyalty and greediness on her part.

But reacting to the said story in a Facebook post, her former colleague during the erstwhile Mahama administration, Stan Xoese Dogbe, did not take the story lightly as he descended heavily on the proponents of the article describing it as an incredulous and bogus piece.

He wondered how such a story could "enhance the political chances of whoever it is intended to serve."

Below is the full Facebook post by him:

" I have read some incredulous news stories and articles, but this, pardon my 'French', is the most STU.PID politically-sponsored story I have ever-sighted.

In any case, how does this bogus story enhance the political chances of whoever it is intended to serve?

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, some of us are proud that you've joined Chief Hudu Mogtari on his campaign. Let whoever wants to say whatever say it. The impact of your 4-day foray into the region is what is shaking them. A man must complement his wife, and vice versa and that's what you've done done beautifully.

But why? If he has abandoned his [sic] boss, are you the ones to complain for his [sic] boss? I thought you sponsored a press conference that subjected her to verbal and culturally-insensitive attacks just weeks ago? Why is her joining her husband now an issue for you?

Or has she prevented any wife from campaigning for their husbands?"

However, after further thoughts and consideration over his seemingly inappropriate choice of language in registering his displeasure over the story, Mr. Stan Xoese Dogbe later issued an apology to those who might have been affected by his earlier statement in another Facebook.

Many political observers have described the gesture as welcoming and as a mark of political maturity.

A former student of Stan Dogbe at the Wa Islamic Secondary School in 1996 who spoke to Upper West Blog expressed his delight in the action of his former Geography master and called for other politicians to emulate the gesture.

Below is his apology piece:

So a couple of calls have come through...
My defense is of my senior sister and colleague being accused of abandoning our boss.

I sure don't have the capacity and not wading into the primaries she is campaigning for.

I have no remote control to the CCY or seat, and as I explained in a number of the calls you understand.

As for internal knocks arising out of such posts, they will come, so sure, I look forward to exchanging pleasantries with all offended by my post.

Nothing is to heart, for sure. Joyce has a right like you and I to do what she deserves, in this case. That was my argument.

NDC first, 👍 👍
