U/W Regional Minister comes to the aid of Bahass Foundation's noble cause

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, has extended his hand of support to Bahass Foundation in recognition of their great works in helping the most vulnerable members of the society.

The Minister did this when a delegation from the Foundation led by its CEO, Mr Eliasu Yussif Baba, paid a courtesy call on him at his office on Monday, 21st August, 2023.

The Hon Minister recounted a recent interaction with the Bahass Foundation CEO who briefed him on their ongoing projects and achievements, which had earned them a national acclaim.

According to the Minister, mental health is s very stigmatized illness in Ghana and across the world. The stigma, he indicated, is even more pronounced in less developed communities like the Upper West Region, and for Bahass Foundation to focus on supporting and providing services to these stigmatized section of the population, is very commendable.

The Hon Minister, presented an amount of GHS 3,000.00 to the Bahass Foundation as a token and a show of appreciation to their commendable efforts towards mental health care in the region and encouraged the CEO not to relent on his outfit's work as many people appreciate the work they do.



Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih also expressed his willingness to the Bahass Foundation to actualize their plans to establish a facility in Guli, as a rehabilitation center meant for vulnerable members of the population particularly, mental health patients.


The Minister also took the opportunity to contribute an amount of GH¢3,000.00 towards the treatment of the renowned journalist, Mr. Morris Banaamwini, who was involved in a motor accident few weeks ago but currently recuperating at the Kumasi Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi.



In response to the minister's support, Mr Eliasu Yussif Baba, the CEO of Bahass Foundation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Minister's wonderful gesture.

He commended Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih for his open-door policy and willingness to extend a helping hand to them.

Mr Eliasu prayed to the Almighty God to grant Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih a long life and good health to continue with the execution of his examplary life.

He encouraged the Minister to continue to play his pivotal role in uplifting the region.

According to him, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih's actions serve as an inspiring example of the impact that can be made when public officials and organizations collaborate for the betterment of society.
