Ghana Nigeria comparison is an unfair comparison - Samini

Ghanaian music legend Samini Dagaati known as Samini for short has thrown his view on the ongoing heat between Ghana Music and Nigeria Music.

For sometime now, our media space has brought up a debatable argument between Ghanaian musicians and Nigerian musicians over who takes over the space and why Nigerian songs are mostly played on radio and TV not to talk about our streaming spaces and playlists.

This argument was revived after Asake recently filled up O2 Arena bring back the challenge to Ghanaian artistes to also do same.

Speaking to Saddick Adams on Angel 102.9 FM, Samini answered that he isn't bothered and never worried if Nigerian songs are mostly played on our media space.

"The Ghana Nigeria comparison is an unfair comparison in the sense that, Ghana is not the only country in Africa for us to say if a Nigerian guy has filled up an auditorium, a Ghanaian guy hasn't fill it up. What about the guy from Egypt? Isn't he an African. What about other African countries?. Give Ghanaians a break.

Bring his submission to an end on why they are donating our streaming space,
"Nigerians are 200M+ people and don't want to take about those not living in Nigeria. Ghanaians are still less than 35M people. So if we are to do ratio or maths, it will take a long period for a Ghanaian to make 1M streams than it would for a Nigerian living in just Lagos.

These are some of the reasons Samini gave as to why Nigerian music has taken over our space here in Ghana.
