Play Ghana is good, but I support “Play Africa” - Bismark Botchwey

The Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Sintim Media, Mr Bismark Botchwey better known in the Media Space as Sintim has added his voice to the “Play Ghana” agenda.

The renowned blogger and Digital Media Executive, Bismark Botchwey, in a write up shared on his official facebook page has commended the Creative Arts Agency led by the Director. Gynakromah Akufo-Addo as well as musicians and industry players such as Samini, Smallgod, Black Sheriff, Reggie Rockstone , and DJ Mensah for their Efforts made in ensuring a 100% play of Ghana music this December and also set to implementing a national policy that ensures 80% play of Ghana music and 20% foreign music.

However, contrary to the Play Ghana agenda, Bismark Botchwey in his submission on Facebook opined that, he rather supports “Play Africa” instead of Play Ghana.

He went further to elaborate that, irrespective of the “Play Ghana Agenda”, Ghanaian Musicians should focus on marketing their music to reach larger audiences across the African continent.

He advised that, a Centralized African Music Streaming Platform is crucial to reach larger audience where he laid emphasis on the Play Africa music streaming platform established in 2017 by Mr. Isaac Yeboah Filson.

In brief write up, Bismark Botchwey wrote;

Play Ghana is good, but I support “Play Africa”

Play Ghana is meaningless, unless our music is played and streamed by music lovers across all the 54 countries in Africa.

The focus of Ghanaian Musicians is to have an African Centralized Music Platform where all songs made by Africans can be streamed and played.

It is of this that a visionary man, Isaac Yeboah Filson established Play Africa in 2017 with a mission to create and serve as a centralized music streaming platform for all musicians of African descent.

It's crucial for our music to reach and be enjoyed by music lovers across all 54 countries in Africa. As we preach Play Ghana, Let's support Play Africa and spread the love for African music!
