Tallybo Ix Flowsachi, a Cape Coast artist living in the US, expresses his continued dissatisfaction with how Africans are vying for Grammy Awards.

Tallybo Ix Flowsachi, a Cape Coast musician living in the US, has expressed his continued dissatisfaction with the reason why African and Ghanaian musicians are fixated on the Grammy Award system.

Africans should not use the prize as a yardstick by which to judge other Africans, the artist wrote on his Facebook page, since it might demotivate both established and upcoming performers.

He does not see why African artists should be heartbroken if their names are not chosen for the nominations, as he believes that the Grammy Award and the Ghanaian award program, the VGMA, or Nigeria's CMA, are the same.

In contrast to African awards, he continued, the Grammys are carefully marketed and well-hyped. He claims that African musicians have been brainwashed into thinking that the Grammy Awards are better than their own. He wrote,

"You are in Africa chasing an American music award (Grammys) and using it as a yardstick to measure African artistes. The Grammys is just like VGMA or Nigerian music awards or CMA but it’s branded well and hyped up.You guys are just brainwashed.Same way you say CMA or VGMA is corrupt;Same way Americans say Grammys is corrupt.Support your own and make it big"
