The inauguration of newly elected Assemblymen and women in KEEA was successfully held. MCE, Hon. Percy and Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur were dissatisfied with the election of the presiding member

The newly elected Assembly men and women in the municipality were inaugurated on February 12, 2024, at a meeting presided over by MCE Hon. Lawyer Solomon Ebo Appiah, MP for KEEA Hon. Samuel Atta Mills, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, and numerous other dignitaries.

Lawyer Daniel Arthur, the occasion's chairman, pleaded with all of the guests who had been invited to contribute to making the celebration a great success.

The following noteworthy points were highlighted in Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffu Addo's presidential speech, which was read by Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, Head of Ghana's Local Government Service:
1. The president began by praising them and extending his greetings for their contributions to humanity.
2. Show consideration for their labor and deference to the community's and the municipality's senior citizens.
3. Pressed them to relay to the different voting districts all pertinent information that was provided to them by the assembly.
4. Despite their limited resources, they ought to be prepared to accept any and all contributions made by the municipality in order to ensure the district functions well.
5. Give up assuming responsibility and wait for the right authorization before dictating how land should be used. This is how floods will be avoided in the future.
6. When making decisions, get input from those in positions of authority, such as pastors, heads, members of unit committees, and others.
7. Press them to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty and altruism.

Hon. Lawyer Solomon Ebo Appiah, the MCE for KEEA, also informed them that their office is always open, ready to listen and provide them with whatever assistance they may need. In closing, he called on all assembly members to collaborate without regard to political affiliation.

After going to the polls for a second time, the election for the new presiding member came to an unsuccessful conclusion.

First round: Of the 54 votes polled, Hon. Paul Akufful (Kissi East) received 20 votes.
With 34 votes, Hon. Michael Botsio (electoral areas of Eguafo, Breman, and Ponkrom) received.

Second round
1. Hon. Paul Akufful had 21
2. Hon. Michael Botsio had 33.

The NDC's refusal to recognize and vote for Hon. Botsio as the new presiding member left the MCE, Hon. Solomon Ebo Appiah, NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Percyval Dennis Quaicoe, and Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur extremely displeased. They all contend that such behavior must cease since it impedes progress. Although KEEA is well renowned for its dedication to holding these elections, this occurrence is the first of its kind.

Even with their entreaties prior to the second election, the MCE pleaded with the opposition party to help Hon. Botsio win.
