The Ejisu constituency mourns the loss of its esteemed Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament, John Kumah, who passed away at 45 following a short illness.

Survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children, Mr. Kumah was a beacon of integrity and hope in Ejisu, part of Ghana's Ashanti Region. He was affectionately known as Lawyer John Kumah and was celebrated for his dedication to fostering employment and optimism among all age groups in his community.

Prior to his political career, he was the entrepreneurial force behind Majak Associates Ltd, a construction company with a footprint throughout Ghana. His legal career saw him founding Aduaprokye Chambers, where he served as Managing Partner before his role as CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in 2017.

At NEIP, he oversaw the training of 45,000 start-ups via the Presidential Business Support Programme, catalyzing job opportunities for the youth across the nation.

With a legacy spanning over 17 years of leadership and innovation, Mr. Kumah's contributions to job creation, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment were widely acknowledged. His accolades include the Most Efficient, Prominent Government Appointee in 2018 and a place among President Akufo Addo’s top 20 Most Humble and Respectful Appointees in 2019.

A dedicated member of the NPP since 1992, Mr. Kumah was instrumental in founding the Young Patriots, a youth wing within the party, and contributed significantly to the NPP's Communication Team.

His unwavering commitment to the people of Ejisu was evident in his successful procurement of significant funding for infrastructure and employment initiatives within the constituency.
