Efya Reveals Emotional Struggles Behind Her Absence from the Music Scene

Ghanaian singing sensation, Efya, has opened up about her extended absence from the music scene and her irregular release schedule for songs. During an interview on 3FM's Urban Blend with AJ Sarpong, the talented artist, whose real name is Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, candidly explained the reasons behind her musical hiatus.

Surprising the host, AJ, Efya revealed that a broken heart was the primary cause of her decision to refrain from singing during that period. The "Forgetting Me" songstress emphasized that her emotional well-being greatly influences her artistry, which led her to take a step back from the spotlight instead of confronting her pain through music.

"It was my heartbreak that prevented me from singing. You know I consider myself a 'baby girl,' so my feelings matter a lot to me, and it was something I didn't want to deal with at that time," Efya explained during the exclusive interview.

Additionally, Efya shared that she had been tirelessly dedicated to the music industry for a staggering 15 years without taking a break. Throughout this extensive period, she actively performed in numerous shows, showcasing her exceptional talent and consistently representing her craft.

Furthermore, Efya expressed her belief that she had fulfilled everyone's expectations during her long and successful career, stating, "I've been working continuously for 15 years without a break. In between, I have performed in all the shows and have always represented. I believe I have given everyone their desired features."

With one mixtape and an album to her credit since embarking on a solo career, Efya has treated audiences to captivating songs such as "One of Your Own" featuring Bisa Kdei, "Daddy Yo" featuring Wizkid, "Getaway," "Best In Me," and several notable collaborations with Sarkodie.

Her unwavering dedication to the music industry and her impressive repertoire of songs have firmly established her as a celebrated Ghanaian singer. As she continues to captivate audiences with her soulful voice and heartfelt performances, Efya's unique talent and personal journey serve as a testament to her resilience and authenticity as an artist.
