A 33-year-old unemployed man, Bright Kwame Amankwah, has been sentenced to six years in prison with hard labor by a circuit court in Dormaa-Ahenkro, Dormaa Central Municipality of Bono Region. He was found guilty of theft after admitting to stealing various items from Sarah Fosuaa's handbag. The stolen items included an Apple iPhone 7 Plus, a Techno Spark 4, two Itel keypad phones, GhC16,000.00 in cash, a wristwatch, perfume, a brassiere, and a handkerchief.

According to Police Inspector Emmanuel Asare, the incident took place on May 4th at around 8:30 PM. As Fosuaa was leaving her church in Dormaa-Ahenkro with her friend Rachael, Amankwah suddenly grabbed her bag from behind, took the valuables, and fled. Fosuaa raised an alarm, and people in the area joined in chasing and apprehending the thief. However, during the pursuit, Amankwah sustained a head injury in a struggle with the pursuers before being arrested.
