I Decided To Travel Abroad After Seeing My Teacher’s Salary - Man Reveals

A young man from Ghana has opened up about what motivated him to leave his home country and seek better opportunities abroad. According to a video he shared, the man explained that his decision to leave was largely influenced by the salary of his teacher, who was earning a meagre amount. Netizens who reacted to the video praised the man for his determination and drive to succeed.

In an interview with SVTV Africa, the young man, Jeff, who is now based in the Netherlands, revealed that during his Senior High School days in 2014, one of his teachers told him that his monthly salary was only 1700 cedis and that he was planning to quit his job in search of greener pastures abroad. As someone who aspired to become a teacher himself, Jeff was discouraged by the low salary and the prospect of a limited future, and decided to pursue opportunities overseas.

"I wanted to become a teacher but he advised me against it and told me to rather travel abroad," Jeff said.

The young man is now in the Netherlands and has advised others to do the same if they have the means to travel abroad, as job opportunities are abundant there. His video has gathered over 13,000 views, and many Ghanaians on social media have praised him for sharing his experience and being proactive in pursuing his goals.

Jeff's story has resonated with many, with one social media user commending him for being wise, focused, and down-to-earth. Another user called him an example for Ghana's youth, while cautioning that only those who are willing to work hard should consider traveling abroad for work.
