The Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in Bono, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, has made a strong declaration. He stated that he would willingly resign from his role and shift his support to the National Democratic Congress if former President John Mahama can successfully reclaim the Tema Port, which he allegedly sold. In an interview on with Kwaku Dawuro on the Movement Tv/Wontumi Radio In The Morning show, Mr. Abronye expressed his commitment to this promise.

He asserted that if Mahama assures Ghanaians of his ability to retrieve the Tema Port, sold to Vincent Bolloré under a 35-year contract, he would step down as NPP Regional Chairman of Bono and actively campaign for Mahama. According to Abronye, the sale of the Port has contributed to Ghana's economic challenges, emphasizing that a significant portion of imported goods enters the country through the Tema Harbor. He believes that if Mahama can convincingly commit to reversing this situation, he would stand by his words and support him.
