I loved him from the very first day I saw him - Lady married to a blind man tells their love story

A heartwarming love story was shared by a Nigerian lady, Maimunatu Sa'idu, who is happily married to a blind man named Dahuru Abdulhamid Idris. According to Sa'idu, she chose to marry him because she loved him more than any of her other suitors.

Their wedding took place in Zakirai town, Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano state on May 12. In an interview with DailyTrust, Sa'idu revealed that she fell in love with her husband from the very first day they met. Her husband, Dahuru Abdulhamid, gained recognition in 2021 when he was interviewed about his educational struggles and his voluntary teaching work at a public school. Nigerians were moved by his story, and an anonymous person even purchased a three-bedroom flat for him. He also secured a teaching job with the Kano state government.

After their wedding, Sa'idu expressed her unwavering love for her husband, despite his physical challenge. She stated, "I have loved him from the first day I met him and I will continue till eternity. I believe that God destined us to be together, and I wholeheartedly accept it. He is the person I want to spend my life with. He is kind, gentle, and deeply devoted to religion. Marrying him is like achieving a lifelong dream. I promised myself that I would marry the person I love the most among my suitors. I will fulfill my responsibilities and take good care of him and his family."

Dahuru Abdulhamid, the groom, shared that he met his life partner through her elder brother, who happened to be his friend. He realized that she would become his wife because of the way she embraced him despite his blindness.

When asked about how he would take care of his wife as a blind man, Dahuru Abdulhamid explained, "Marriage is about sharing ideas, needs, and responsibilities. She has her own responsibilities, and I have mine. I will do my best to fulfill them, and I pray that Almighty Allah guides me on the right path."

This beautiful love story reminds us that love knows no boundaries and that true love goes beyond physical appearances. Maimunatu Sa'idu and Dahuru Abdulhamid's union is a testament to the power of love and acceptance in building a strong and lasting relationship.
