Spike Lee’s Ghana Movie Industry Loose Talk Not Smart – James Gardiner

James Gardiner has responded to comments made by Spike Lee, an American filmmaker and actor, about Ghana's film industry.

Spike Lee had mentioned that he was not aware of the thriving film industry in Ghana until he came to the country as part of the Creative Arts team that accompanied Vice President Kamala Harris on her visit to Ghana.

He also expressed his desire to communicate with people in the film industry and share trade ideas.

James Gardiner described Spike Lee's response as not smart, probably because he was taken aback by the question. He added that any smart person would not emphatically state that they were not aware of a thriving film industry in the country they were in when the reality on the ground was the opposite.

James suggested that Spike could have been more diplomatic by suggesting that there were no plans for him to meet people in the film industry and that they could plan and do something in the future.

Furthermore, James stressed that Spike Lee's comments could be described as loose talk. Overall, James Gardiner believes that Spike Lee's response was not well thought out and lacked diplomacy.
