Evalue Ajomoro Gwira NPP Parliamentary Elections In Limbo

The parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituency in the Western Region schedules take place on Saturday is in limbo as some polling station executives of the party in the area are threatening to injunct the exercise.

This follows the alleged decision by the NPP Western Regional chairman, Francis Ndedesia to allow the election to take place at a place outside the constituency capital which should not be the case according to a directive from the NPP General Secretary, Koduah Frimpong.

According to the aggrieved polling station executives the party general secretary has directed that there shall be one voting centre in each constituency capital.

"The directive was that all elections should be held at the same venue the November 4 presidential primaries were held. Why change the venue from Axim to Bamianko against security advise", the polling station executives asked.

They asserted that the regional chairman has indicated that the parliamentary primaries in the orphan constituency on Saturday would be held in the Gwira area of the constituency where two of the aspiring candidates hail from.

They said that even if the regional chairman wants to change the venue for election from the constituency capital, then the election should be held on neutral grounds

"We need to vote on neutral grounds. This is because two of the aspirants hail from the Gwira Ajomoro area and only one comes from the Evalue. So we can vote on a neutral grounds at Apaitaim", the indicated.
