Ghana Gas extends support to Akosombo dam spillage victims

Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has offered support to communities in the Volta Region affected by the spillage of water from the Akosombo and Kpong Dams.

The items are to help mitigate the difficulties being faced by the communities that have been impacted by the spillage.

Mad. Delphine Dogbegah and Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, both Board Members of Ghana Gas, formally handed over the relief items to Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). The items included mattresses, various food items, and toiletries.

Mad. Delphine Dogbegah noted that the decision to assist the people of the Volta Region was driven by the board and management's assessment of the critical needs in the affected areas.

Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, Director-General of NADMO, assured that the relief items would be effectively distributed to the community members affected by this unfortunate situation.

Beneficiary communities were Battor and Mepe in North Tongu, Sogakope in South Tongu, Agbozume and Denu in Ketu South, and Adidome in Central Tongu.
