Former Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni Valley Constituency, Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi has filed her forms to contest as a Parliamentary aspirant for the NPP for the 2024 election.

She is the second to file after another lawyer, Theophilus Tawiah, also submitted his forms to the constituency executive of the party.

Submitting her forms, she noted that she is contesting again to continue the good works she had begun.

“As a former Member of Parliament can, the constituents can attest to the fact that I did a lot to help as their representative in parliament with a good track record. Their problem was my problem”, she stated.

Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi said even though she lost the 2020 parliamentary elections, she still has the constituency at heart and thereby continues to contribute her quota towards the development of the constituency.

She added that there was the need to contest again in order to take the seat from the NDC to move the constituency to another level.

While thanking party supporters, she appealed to them to start the campaign which will help the party to win both parliamentary and presidential elections.

The Constituency secretary of the NPP in Prestea Huni Valley, Lawrence Appiah Takyi who receive the form, inspected it and confirmed that everything was intact.

He said the closing date for the submission of forms is Thursday, August 10, 2023, after which all forms will be sent to the region, awaiting vetting.

Chairman of the party Abiam Kuntu Danso noted that since two people have filed their nominations so far there is a possibility for primaries in order to elect one of them as the candidate of the NPP in the constituency.

He urged supporters to be divided because of this, but rather come together as one family to fight for victory in the 2024 elections.

He urged party supporters to start hitting the ground running in order to get the seat from the NDC.
