Arsenal breaks deadlock against Liverpool in the Premier League

Arsenal has beaten Liverpool 2 years after defeating the latter by a 2-1 win way back in July 2020.

Prior to that, Arsenal’s last win had come in April 2015.

Today’s match happens to be the 238th meeting between Liverpool and Arsenal.

Arsenal took the lead twice in the first half, only to be pegged back each time by their stubborn visitors. A minute after kickoff Gabriel Martinelli scored the first goal for Arsenal. Darwin Nunez equalized in the 34th minute. Halftime ended with Bukayo Saka scoring during the extra time, leaving the scores at 2 - 1 against Liverpool.

Second half saw the Reds equalizing at the 53rd minute; a beautiful goal by Roberto Firmino.
The Gunners kept their belief and composure though, and it paid off as Saka scored once more from the penalty spot at the 76th minute.
The Reds couldn't come back for a third time.
Game ended in a 3 - 2 score in favor of Arsenal.
Arsenal is currently topping the table with 24points while Liverpool stays at 10th position with just 10 points
