Meet Celia Baah-Danso; a military officer breaking boundaries in Table Tennis

Celia Baah-Danso has been making a statement in the Table Tennis fraternity. She's currently working as a Military Officer with the Ghana Armed Forces and still following her passion; playing Table Tennis.


Celia's sports journey started with Volleyball and Football. She represented her Junior High School(Good News Preparatory School) in their interschools competition where she was selected as part of the team to represent their zone in the Interzonals competition. An opportunity to participate in the Table Tennis Zonal Competition presented itself and she took advantage of it. Since then Table Tennis has become a huge part of her life.

Below are a few of her achievements and highlights

2022 - Winner of HOMOWO OPENS CHAMPIONSHIP

2020 - Winner of CHAIRMAN’S CUP and INNOVATION AWARD

2019 - Winner of CHAIRMAN’S CUP

2019 SWAG AWARD - Best player of the year

2018 - Women In Sports Award (WISA) Best player of the year

2017 - Agonaman Achievers Award

2016 - UN Best Female TT player and mixed doubles award.



Her most iconic Table Tennis moment was when the Ghana Female Table Tennis Team climbed the podium for the Silver medal in the West African Championship held in Nigeria in May this year.



Celia believes the keys to succeeding in sports is to keep your focus, be dedicated, be hardworking and be self- disciplined.
