Nigeria crowned champions of 2022 Middle East-Africa Rugby League Championship

Nigeria has been crowned champions of the 2022 Middle East-Africa Rugby League Championship, three years after beating Morocco in the finals in the 2019 edition of the tournament.

Nigeria and Ghana made it to the finals after defeating Cameroon and Kenya in the first round of the tournament on 28th September.

First match of the day saw Cameroon playing against debutants, Kenya. Kenya beat Cameroon by 16 - 0 after 80mins.

Nigeria-Ghana clash kicked off at 2:30pm. Nigeria scored the first try of the match. First half of the ended with a 22 - 0 against Ghana.

Ghana equalized in the first few minutes of the second half but failed to convert, bringing the score to 22 - 4.

Nigeria took charge again scoring breaking the defense of Ghana and scoring back to back tries.

The match ended with Nigeria emerging winners over Ghana by 34-4.
