Tennis: Lisel Ampah triumphs in the Kidi Tennis Tournament and Clinic

In the 2022 Kidi Tennis and Clinic Tournament final at the National Tennis Centre in Accra, Lisel Ampah of Tarkwa Gold Field Tennis Club defeated Joy Oriaku of Stadium Tennis Club by a score of 5-4(1) to emerge winner of the tournament.

Lisel improved her performance to win the tie-break after four total games by breaking Joy's serve three times.

In another match, Georgette Nortey defeated Phyllis Kotey in the 12 and under division(female) in an all-Stadium contest.

Jeff Frimpong of the Ghana Tennis Club defeated Michael Asakinaba of the Tesano Tennis Club 4-0 in the 12 and under competitions(male).

In the all-Stadium incident, Joseph Atitsogbe demonstrated his prowess over Ebenezer Quaye.

More than 100 kids from all over the country attended the one-day Kidi Tennis Tournament and Clinic.

Kevin Vanderpuye, who organized the event, said in a statement to ghanatennis.org, "I am thrilled with the turnout and I can say the future seems bright for Ghana tennis with what I have witnessed." To give the kids a different experience on the court, we keep switching the tournament locations. We started at the Korle-Bu Tennis Club, moved to the ICGC Tennis Club last year, and are now at the Stadium.

Isaac Abogye Duah, president of the Ghana Tennis Federation, said, "The Federation will lend its support to such projects. I want to congratulate the organizers for this initiative. Thank you one more."

The Coach K&K Tennis Foundation, RKB Gaming, Ultimega Solutions, Swift FP Construction-Real Estates, Hills Pharmaceuticals, Najiland - supplier of drinks and water, Nestle Ghana, Ransnette Joint,-Korle Gonno, EKB Foundation and Hope Tennis Foundation are the sponsors of this year's event.
