The Australian High Commission's Direct Aid Program (DAP) in Ghana has funded the Social Enterprise Ghana's (SE Ghana) "Investing in Women in Green Ventures" project, providing start-up kits to 40 women who have received training in climate smart agribusiness.
Speaking at a handing over ceremony earlier today, Australia’s Second Secretary, Candice Hooper noted that the project seeks to promote equality, female empowerment, disability inclusion, and climate action.
"The Australian High Commission is pleased to support this project because it aligns strongly with the core objectives of the DAP, particularly gender equality and female empowerment, as well as disability inclusion and climate action. The project is one of ten projects funded this year with a strong focus on gender equality," She said.
The start-up kits will allow the women to start their own businesses and contribute to the local economy.
