Song-Ba Empowerment Centre: Igniting Change and Restoring Hope through Skills Training

TAMALE, GHANA - Song-Ba Empowerment Centre, a pioneering organization in the Northern Region of Ghana, is committed to ending Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) against women and girls. Our mission is to restore hope among SGBV victims/survivors through vocational skills training.
Our goal is to ignite change from within each woman and girl, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty, abuse, or limitations. We provide sustainable sources of income through skills training, particularly targeting those who have not had the privilege of formal education, such as “kayayo girls”, teenage mothers, and other vulnerable groups.
Our vision is to improve the livelihood of women and girls through appropriate and affordable alternatives, thereby ending SGBV. We aim to provide a holistic transformation of SGBV victims/survivors by offering vocational skills training, empowerment, and exposure to life-changing innovations.
Our specific objectives include:
• Mobilizing resources and establishing skill training opportunities for vulnerable women, young girls, and SGBV victims/survivors.

• Ensuring access to safe and healthy menstrual hygiene solutions.
• Facilitating the rehabilitation of women, girls, and SGBV victims/survivors through counselling.
• Supporting community-led initiatives focused on using sustainable technologies to enhance development.
• Building capacity and sensitizing women and young girls on sexual reproductive health, rights, and advocating against SGBV and Kayayo.
• Ensuring that women and young girls have access to microfinance schemes.
Our activities include the Song-Ba Skill Initiative Project (SSIP), Advocacy Against Kayayo (AAK), Advocacy against SGBV, My Ideal Life Project (MILP), End Period Poverty (EPP), and the Song-Ba Savings and Loans Association (SSLA).
Join us in our mission to create a world where every woman and girl can live free from violence and limitations. Together, we can make a difference.
