BREAKING THE BIAS, CROSSING HORIZONS – H.E MISS EMILY JEMIMA NYARKO
President of the Ghana Union of Professional Students, Her Excellency Miss Emily Jemima Nyarko, on 20th March, 2023, received a citation of appreciation awarded by the Students’ Representative Council of Multimedia Institute of Ghana.
Having begun her tenure of office as the spearhead of over 3 million professional students all over the country, H.E Miss Emily Jemima Nyarko has managed to lead the Ghana Union of Professional Students to execute great achievements. From launching the union’s very first educational technology mobile application and also the first national students mobile application, to adequately contribute opinions relating to issues of state interest, the president exhibits attributes of a visionary leader and in more ways than one, expresses diligence to the union’s mission. This had earned her a place amongst the top 35 influential student leaders in Ghana 2022.
Other achievements of the Ghana Union of Professional Students under the administration of Emily Jemima Nyarko are organizing charity works and donating to member institutions, organizing mega conferences and summits which have attracted the likes of Daniel McKorley of McDan Group of Companies, Deputy Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, Members of Parliaments and Chief Executive Officers of many business organizations. The president’s administration is noted for its invaluable contribution towards student leadership and educational development through reforms, student capacity building programs, proposals written to the government and advocacy programs.
Miss Emily Jemima Nyarko remains an epitome of good leadership, value and dedication to her cause, securing her a number of citations of appreciation from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, SRC of UniMAC-Ghana Institute of Languages, National Health Students’ Association of Ghana, Ghana School of Surveying and Mapping and Ghana Youth Leadership and Business and the recent citation of appreciation from SRC-Multimedia Institute of Ghana. She has also received the Ghanaweb Youth excellence in leadership award of the year at Ghanaweb Youth Excellence Awards 2022.
“If your actions create a legacy that inspres people to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you are an excellent leader” she states. Leaders should be able to exert a positive impact on people cause a growth in them and this is what president of the Ghana Union of Professional Students, H.E Emily Jemima Nyarko stands for.
