In the ongoing ambulance procurement trial, Richard Jakpa, the third defendant, has emphasized that the ambulances were custom-built to meet the government’s specifications.
He asserted that Big Sea Limited, the supplier, ensured the vehicles were fully equipped with necessary medical equipment, advanced communication systems, and enhanced safety features.
Jakpa blamed the government's failure to clear the ambulances upon delivery for significant financial losses suffered by Big Sea Limited.
He denied allegations of receiving 50% of the contract sum, calling them baseless, and insisted that the focus should be on the government’s contractual failures and logistical issues affecting the ambulances' deployment.
